That warm fuzzy feeling inside

I don't know if you listen to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1, but on it they do this thing called the Random Acts of Kindness where people bring to the attention of the public, through the radio, people who have gone through hardship or grievance of some kind and Scott Mills treats them to something nice just to make their lives a little better.

Also, on that show, people share their tales of people who were randomly nice to them and altruistically helped them out in an hour of need.

Yesterday, this girl came on to tell the story of how she needed to get to London but couldnt find anywhere that would take her credit card so she couldnt go home. After a few failed attempts she walked into a newsagent hoping to get some cashback, to which the shopkeeper apologetically explained that he couldnt help her, but that they would have the credit card system installed the following week. At this point, the poor girl lost it and broke down in tears. The man behind the counter asked her how much money she needed, to which she replied that £40 would be needed to buy her ticket to London, where she could then sort herself out. Immediately, the shopkeeper pulled HIS wallet out and gave her the £40 she needed!

She was very grateful and very touched by the gesture, and, eventhough she had already thanked him personally and had paid back the money, she still felt that he deserved a bigger thank you, so decided to get in touch with Scott Mills.

Scott Mills was obviously impressed and touched, and so told him that Radio 1 was going to treat him and his family to a nice dinner in one of the poshest restaurants in his area! He thanked him very much and the phone call was over...

A few minutes later, the girl that works with Scott Mills dealing with people over the phone (can't remember her name, soz...) came on, sniffling... Scott asked her if she was okay... She answer that she was just bit emotional. Apparently, when she was talking to the man to arrange that wonderful dinner gift, the man replied:

"I am thankful to God for the food He puts on my family's table, everyday. I would rather you took the money you would have spent in this dinner and give it to the Children in Need charity fund-raising, tomorrow (Friday)."

Amazing!... There aren't enough people like this man, out there...

Stories like this really restore my faith in the human nature and the goodness of humankind and make me believe that, in the end, goodness will always prevail...

...And like Scott Mills says: "It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside..." =)

To quote on the most iconic American Trash-TV presenters of our days:
"Take care of yourselves... and each other!" ;)

Stay Beautiful!
